Ryan Birkey, RA
Director of Innovation and Technology, Senior Architect,
Need a section detail? Roof plan? Full set of construction documents? Ryan Birkey is your guy. Joining Design Collaborative in 2005, Ryan knows a thing or two about design and construction. From bold architectural forms to the tiniest of connection details, he regularly coordinates with project engineers and interior designers, and fellow architects on projects to create a comprehensive set of construction documents.
Ryan loves being outdoors and active with his family. He has completed a handful of half-marathons, the Chicago Marathon, and is currently training for the Ironman 70.3, also known as a Half Ironman. One of Ryan’s sons, 12-year-old Branson, consistently outruns him, but Ryan doesn’t let that get him down. Slow and steady wins the race? Or maybe…just completes the race.
