Amarah De Somer
Mechanical Engineer,
“The best ideas come from asking questions, talking through possibilities, and never losing sight of the people you’re designing for.”
Amarah enjoys taking problems apart and figuring out how to make them work better. With an engineer’s mindset, she’s drawn to the details—how systems function, how spaces come together, and how thoughtful design can quietly improve someone’s day. She enjoys the mix of planning and adapting that comes with engineering, especially when she gets to dig into a challenge with a team and talk through ideas as they develop.
For Amarah, this work is about people just as much as it is about design. She chose this field because it lets her connect technical problem-solving with something more meaningful, creating spaces that support comfort, function, and experience. She thrives in collaboration, especially when she can think out loud, ask questions, and refine solutions alongside others.
