Architectural Designer (IN/CLT)

Graduate & Experienced

Design Collaborative is seeking a full-time, Architectural Designer with a passion to improve people’s worlds. We have openings for new graduates as well as openings for experienced architectural design professionals. Our designers pursue excellence in building design, technical documentation, construction administration, and client satisfaction on every project. They believe in a collaborative, process-driven approach to design, the importance of communication and leadership, a sense of “owning” the construction documents, and a commitment to a timely and judicious approach to construction administration. The ideal Architectural Designer is curious, creative, and solution focused. This individual has strong verbal and written communication skills and enjoys working in team or individual settings. Personal and professional growth are priorities, as is the desire to be an “Ideal Team Player”.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor or Master of Architecture from an NCARB accredited school*
  • Graduate level positions
    • 0-3 years of professional design experience
    • Completion of an architectural internship preferred
  • Experienced positions
    • 3+ years’ experience with an architecture/design firm
    • RA or working towards RA
    • Commercial design experience preferred in one or more of the following markets: Healthcare, Community, Education, Multi-Family/Multi-Use, Workplace and Financial.

*Interested candidates that have a design or design technology degree that is not from an NCARB accredited school may be eligible for consideration for our Architectural Drafting position.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Responsibilities
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, handle multiple deadlines, and coordinate schedules
  • Ability to shift from big picture awareness to details, ensuring technically excellent projects
  • Ability to work in a team or independent settings
  • Knowledge and understanding of BIM modeling
  • Proficiency with Revit, CAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong organizational Skills
  • Experience successfully taking projects from programming through construction preferred
Key Responsibilities
  • Participating in project process from Concept Design through Construction Administration
  • Preparing and conducting presentations of ideas to clients, contractors, and colleagues
  • Modeling, drafting, and detailing architectural designs through Design Development and Construction Documents using CAD and BIM software
  • Coordinating engineering and consulting disciplines throughout the project
  • Working with Project Managers to set and meet project design goals, schedules, and budgets
  • Working with Project Managers to define and coordinate project specific roles and responsibilities
  • Conducting on-site construction observations and documenting site reviews
  • Participating in client and project team meetings
