Design Collaborative is looking for a motivated Information Technology (IT) Intern to join our team and provide technical assistance to our staff, ensuring that our systems run smoothly and efficiently. As an IT Intern, you will work alongside our design professionals and business leaders to manage and maintain the firm’s technological infrastructure. You will provide support for software, hardware, and networking issues, help troubleshoot problems and contribute to the efficient operation of our office technology. You will work closely with our team of designers, support staff and business professionals, ensuring they have the technical resources they need to excel in their roles.
qualifications
- Current undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related program.
- Basic understanding of computer hardware, software, and networking concepts.
- Familiarity with Windows operating systems.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and common productivity tools.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language preferred (Python, JavaScript, etc.)
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
responsibilities
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software issues for staff members.
- Provide technical support for the firm’s computers, printers, and mobile devices.
- Help set up and configure new workstations and hardware for employees, as well as setting up and configuring hardware in conference rooms and shared workspaces.
- Conduct employee technology security training and collaborate with the firms Managed IT Services provider to monitor use and adherence of firm security measures.
- Help maintain and organize the firm’s IT inventory, including software licenses and hardware assets.
- Assist in connecting applications and ensuring smooth data flow between platforms.
- Collaborate with the firm’s Director of Innovation & Technology and the COO to optimize technology tools specific to the firm’s needs.
