Human Resources Coordinator (FW)

Fort Wayne, Indiana

Design Collaborative’s Human Resources Coordinators support the day-to-day execution of people-centered HR functions across the firm. This role serves as a generalist with an initial focus on benefits and leave administration, employee wellness initiatives, and onboarding/offboarding coordination, while remaining adaptable to support broader HR responsibilities as organizational needs evolve.

This position is ideal for a detail-oriented, service-minded professional who enjoys supporting employees, managing process, and contributing to a positive workplace culture.

The scope of the role may be adjusted over time based on the selected candidate’s experience and strengths.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Prior experience in Human Resources, benefits administration, or a related role preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources is accepted in lieu of prior experience
  • Experience with benefits platforms a plus
  • Knowledge of HR processes, benefits, and leave administration concepts preferred
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Professional judgment, discretion, and a service-oriented mindset
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of employee medical information, benefits data, compensation details, and other private HR records
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related workplace tools, paired with an innovative, problem-solving approach and a continuous process-improvement mindset
Key Responsibilities

Benefits, Leave & Wellness Administration

  • Coordinate employee benefits enrollments for new hires and qualifying life events
  • Support and assist with annual Open Enrollment processes
  • Serve as a primary point of coordination for employee leave administration
  • Administer benefits plans using the firms Benefits Administration site, including ongoing maintenance of plan setup and employee records
  • Perform monthly PTO reconciliations
  • Support benefits-related compliance, reporting, and documentation
  • Participate as an active member of the Wellness Committee, with the opportunity to assume a leadership role over time

Onboarding & Offboarding Coordination

  • Coordinate new hire onboarding logistics, documentation, and timelines
  • Conduct HR onboarding orientations for new employees
  • Support outgoing employee processes, including offboarding coordination and benefits transitions
  • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure timely completion of required forms and acknowledgments

Culture, Engagement & Firm Support

  • Assist with planning and coordination of internal culture-building events and initiatives
  • Support firm-wide employee engagement efforts and HR communications
  • Partner with leadership and team members to reinforce a positive, inclusive, and people-first workplace experience

HR Generalist Support

  • Provide general HR administrative and coordination support across functional areas as needed
  • Assist with employee inquiries and HR documentation
  • Support special projects and initiatives aligned with HR priorities and organizational goals
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve HR processes, employee experience, and operational efficiency

Compensation
