DC volunteers spent the weekend with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Fort Wayne assisting in the build of three new homes.

October 20, 2021

Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit Christian housing ministry with a mission to build better lives for families through home construction.

They bring together volunteers and investors to serve families in need through building secure, durable, and safe homes throughout the United States. Design Collaborative loves teaming up with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Fort Wayne, putting their architecture hats on outside of work and serving the community they live in.

This past Saturday, DC volunteered at a Habitat for Humanity build day!

The team consisted of seven DC people and two partner families. Partner families are those who will gain ownership of the completed builds. The team split up and worked on three houses in various stages of construction. Kelly, Bob, and Pat took on installing doors and door frames, and Shalina, Quinn, Megan, Jared, partner family #1, and partner family #2 laid flooring. The team ended a great day with donuts, water, and snacks provide by Habitat for Humanity!
