SAFE Federal Credit Union – Financial Operations Center
Sumter, South Carolina
As SAFE FCU continues to grow its footprint and membership in the midlands of South Carolina, a new operations building allows for the continuation of elevating the service provided to members.
The new 38,000 SF facility will house a large portion of SAFE FCU’s non-branch operations with ample space for growth and cutting-edge technology. The main design goal was to successfully bring together different departments – lending, administrative, and call center teams – under one roof to foster collaboration and enable a better overall member experience. The facility includes office and work areas, several conference and meeting rooms, multiple training areas, and collaborative work areas. The departments were carefully planned with adjacencies to improve functionality across operations for the credit union, improving workflow and cross-team collaboration.

Comfortable and striking amenities for employees include a community hub, a large outdoor and covered patio, a coffee bar with a lounge area, and a gym that includes private showers. The lighting design is clean and modern, in response to the group’s growth and future-forward business model.
The lighting responds to the different needs in each department – impressive, large-scale fixtures in the expansive and welcoming lobby, linear lights that draw employees and visitors alike into common areas like the community hub, clean and functional fixtures that provide enough light for employee workstations, in conjunction with the daylight entering the space, and decorative pendants that bring the scale down where more intimate meetings and gatherings occur. |
