Franke Park is the most visited park in the city. The 340 acres are home to the FW Zoo, Foellinger Theatre, two pavilions, summer Day Camp, and many miles of trails.

The property also includes Spy Run Creek, Frog Pond, Shoaff Lake, the Lowther Neuhaus Ditch, ecological wetlands, and a young forest.

The improvements of the Renaissance Project have balanced the ecology, recreation, and the built environment while improving circulation and connectivity challenges. The new pavilion provides a landing space for new explorers, and an opportunity for community gatherings. New biking, hiking, and driving paths serve this first phase of improvements and set up circulation for latter implementation projects. The new pavilion is located at a high point in the park to carry the same woodland theme that is seen throughout the master plan. Underutilized areas will be recaptured for fresh engagement and programming opportunities where the existing maintenance facilities currently live.
