Steven Putt, Assoc. AIA, associate, architectural designer and market leader for the Community Studio for Design Collaborative, served as a panelist during the 2020 Walk Bike Places Conference, which took place August 7, 2020. Originally planned as an in-person educational and networking event in Indianapolis, the conference was transformed into a virtual event with dozens of regional experts due to COVID-19 concerns.

Steven’s presentation, “Promenade Park – All for Rivers and Rivers for All,” showcased the award-winning Fort Wayne Riverfront Promenade Park project, which helped to revitalize the downtown riverfront area and opened to the public in the fall of 2019, and will be delivered on Friday in front of a virtual audience. Falling under the event’s “Parks and Waterfronts” track, which explores how parks fit into the structure of cities, this track dives into the value of master planning, delivery methods, stakeholder engagement, native elements and habitats, and how now is an ideal time to advocate for public spaces.
