Data Center Owner’s Rep Project Manager (FW)

Design Collaborative’s Data Center Owner’s Rep Project Manager is a trusted advisor, agent, consultant and authorized representative for our clients that are responsible for leading the planning, design or construction administration of mission-critical data center projects at a specified location.

This role represents the Owner’s interest at all stages of a project, from ensuring alignment in scope, to monitoring budget and schedule, and ensuring quality & communication from all project stakeholders. This role works closely with our clients, contractors, design teams, and vendors to ensure projects are completed as seamlessly as possible, with clear communication and accountability across all project stakeholders.

education and experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, Architecture or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in project management or coordination in the architectural, engineering or construction industry
  • Previous Data Center/Mission Critical experience preferred (or equivalent experience)
  • Professional licensure, such as RA or PE is a plus, but not required
knowledge, skills, and abilities:
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to oversee multiple internal and external stakeholders
  • Great communication skills to clearly organize and share timely information with all stakeholders
  • Detail oriented with ability to learn things quickly
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of project design and construction delivery methods, design phases, and common construction administration practices
  • Knowledge of project management tools like Autodesk Construction Cloud is preferred
  • Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders in different regions in a fast-paced environment
general duties and responsibilities:

The following items are the essential functions of this position. Other duties may be assigned as needed depending on project phase and Owner’s requested services.

Project Planning & Execution

  • Organize & facilitate key project meetings and milestones with all stakeholders as required by the Owner’s requirements
  • Ensure development of master schedules, critical path, milestones, and key deliverables are completed and communicated to all stakeholders.
    Coordinate with all design teams, contractors, and vendors ensuring and aligning project scope and strategy is being fully executed and documented and escalating design issues to resolution where required.
    Lead and review value engineering efforts to optimize cost, performance, and schedule of projects.

Design & Preconstruction Management

  • Coordinate design team activities and facilitate constructability reviews with all required parties.
  • Ensure completion of design contracts, amendments, and design project plans that outline scopes, teams, and budgets are executed and followed.
  • Manage and update schedules, deliverable milestones, and budget reports throughout the design phases of the project with stakeholder input.
  • Help identify and mitigate project risk related to cost, schedule, and scope
  • Coordinate constructability reviews of design reviews with all stakeholders

Construction Oversight & Management

  • Coordinate construction team oversight and coordination meetings with vendors and Owner’s team.
  • Coordinate and ensure timely responses for all construction related aspects like RFI’s, submittals, PR’s, CO’s and other related construction items are completed and logged.
  • Oversee invoice and payment application processing, tracking, and reporting.
  • Provide required reporting to Owner, coordinating efforts with all required vendors and project team members.
Travel:

The assigned work location for this position is at the project site in Allen County, Indiana. Travel to the Fort Wayne – Design Collaborative office may be necessary on occasion. Other occasional travel may include overnight travel at the request of the project team’s leadership.

compensation and benefits:

This role may be filled at the Owner’s Rep Project Manager or Senior Owner’s Rep Project Manager level based on qualifications and experience.

Final compensation will be determined based on a candidate’s education, experience, certifications/licensure, and overall alignment with the role. In addition, this position is eligible for a discretionary bonus and a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k), and more.
