Taylor University – Chapel & Welcome Center
Upland, Indiana
Taylor University is creating a new Chapel and Welcome Center to bring the campus community together, support worship, and provide a welcoming space for students, visitors, and guests. The expanded chapel, designed to seat 3,500—more than double the current Rediger Chapel—will offer space for worship, prayer, and large gatherings while keeping the warm, familiar, and intimate feel that students and alumni love.

Thoughtful details like wood tones, darker accent colors, accessible layouts, and functional spaces such as campus pastor offices and a green room for speakers and performers ensure the chapel is both practical and inviting.
Next to the chapel, the Welcome Center will serve as Taylor’s new “front door,” offering a welcoming environment for prospective students, alumni, parents, and guests while connecting directly to the LaRita Boren Campus Center. The center will feature natural light, soft seating areas, small gathering nooks, and spaces for reflection, encouraging interaction between students and visitors. Housing admissions, marketing, advancement, and the President’s office, the Welcome Center is positioned to let visitors experience the energy of campus life while providing clear access to programs and departments. Together, the Chapel and Welcome Center will create spaces where community, faith, and campus life come together in a way that supports students and welcomes all who come to Taylor University. |
