Originally built in 1905 as the Westminster Hotel, the building has long been a cornerstone of Winona Lake’s heritage. Its halls once echoed with gospel music and revival sermons, and its walls witnessed pivotal moments like the founding of Youth for Christ and the prayer meeting that launched Billy Graham’s first major crusade. The architectural approach honored this history by carefully preserving the structure’s original details and proportions while introducing a more open, accessible layout. The result is a building that tells its story proudly while embracing the future. Reimagining a century-old structure for contemporary use required meticulous engineering. Every system—from structural reinforcements and upgraded HVAC to lighting and life safety—was modernized to enhance comfort, functionality, and energy efficiency. Engineers worked hand-in-hand with designers and college leadership to ensure the space was not only beautiful but built to last. |
