Interior Designer (CLT)

Charlotte, North Carolina

Design Collaborative is seeking an experienced Architectural Interior Designer who is passionate about creating people‑first interior environments. This role is ideal for a creative, detail‑driven designer who enjoys collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, owning interior design solutions, and carrying projects from concept through construction.

What You’ll Do
  • Participate in projects from Interior Concept Design through Construction Administration
  • Develop interior design concepts, space plans, finish palettes, and construction documentation using Revit, CAD, and BIM tools
  • Aid in outlining and/or writing specifications sections
  • Aid in development of interior renderings
  • Participate in the selection and presentation of furniture, furniture systems, fabrics, equipment (FF&E).
  • Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, consultants, and internal teams to deliver integrated interior solutions
  • Prepare and present interior design ideas to clients, contractors, and colleagues
  • Partner with Project Managers to support design goals, schedules, and budgets
  • Coordinate interior specifications, furnishings, fixtures, and materials
  • Participate in client meetings, project coordination, and on‑site construction observations
What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture from an accredited program
  • 3-6+ years of professional interior design experience in an architectural design firm
  • Prior experience with FF&E specifications and working knowledge of procurement process (preferred, not required)
  • NCIDQ certification or actively working toward certification preferred
  • Commercial interior design experience, preferably in one or more of the following markets: Education, Workplace, Financial, Religious
  • Proficiency in Revit, CAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office
  • Strong understanding of the interior design process from programming through construction
  • Knowledge of interior detailing, materials, finishes, and building systems coordination
  • Knowledge of code requirements for life safety and ADA
  • Excellent organization, communication, and time‑management skills
  • Ability to balance creative vision with technical accuracy and documentation
