Design Collaborative receives three industry honors
The first quarter of 2020 has given us all pause around the world and at home, and while we are all adjusting to new norms of remote work and social distancing, we choose to focus on the positive news and those things within our control. Design Collaborative has a number of reasons to smile in early 2020, including new hires and project design awards.
We are excited to welcome the newest addition to our team – Tracey Gould, M.S. IMC, CPSM – as director of business development and marketing. With 26 years of marketing, communications, and business development experience exclusively in the A/E/C industry, she brings an unprecedented wealth of knowledge and expertise to help position the firm in the marketplace, increase its market share, and extend its geographic reach. An award-winning marketer and writer, receiving a first-place Zweig White Marketing Excellence Award for Direct Marketing in 2012 and a PRSA Richmond Bronze Anvil Award in 2009, she has presented at numerous national, state, and regional conferences with dozens of feature articles published in trade and lifestyle publications across the country.
A leader and mentor at heart, Tracey has held dozens of Board and committee roles for national, state, and local organizations and associations, including the Society of Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) where she served on several national committees and as the president of the Virginia chapter; the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) where she recently served as 2nd Vice President for SAME Fort Bragg; and the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) where she served as national awards juror and mentor for several up-and-coming public relations professionals, among multiple other roles in other organizations. She has also served as a professor at High Point University, West Virginia University, and the Jack Welch Management Institute (JWMI), teaching International Marketing, Principles of Marketing, Strategic Public Relations, and Social Media Marketing Strategy. Tracey holds a Master of Science in Integrated Marketing Communications (Summa Cum Laude) from West Virginia University and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Communications and Media Arts from the University of Arizona.
We’re also excited to announce one of our firm’s signature projects, the City of Fort Wayne’s Riverfront Fort WaynePromenade Park, recently won two industry design awards, including a Merit Award in the General Design – Constructed Projects category from the Illinois Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA). The project was selected for this award, in large part, due to its innovative use of LiDAR, maximizing river views and connectivity, accessibility, and use of public space in a flood zone, among other reasons. The project team will officially receive the award during the annual awards ceremony held (as of this writing) on July 24, 2020. Earlier in March, the project won an Honor Award from ACEC Indiana, which selected projects based on its “uniqueness and originality, technical complexity, social and economic value, and public awareness.” To learn more about Promenade Park, read our recent blog post here.
