Van Wert County Hospital - Emergency Department

Van Wert County Hospital asked Design Collaborative to design a new Emergency Department addition to its campus in Van Wert, Ohio. The 15,670-sq. ft. addition made the Emergency Department four times larger and provides better traffic flow and efficiency for staff, improving their ability to treat patients. The DC team utilized operational planning and programming strategies to create a space that is not only more functional but will also accommodate future growth in Van Wert.

  • “They’ve got the engineers in house. They’ve got the architects in house. When they put together the design of a project, that cooperation is happening up front so it makes the construction schedule a little easier to work with because no one is having to undo what someone else has done. As an owner who has lots of other things to do, there was no knock on the door with sudden surprises or delays or cost overruns.”
