University of Saint Francis - Music Technology Center

The extensive renovation of the University of Saint Francis' downtown Fort Wayne campus preserves the historic design elements original to the space, and blends them with the needs of today's higher education institutions. The rehabilitated building has new life while respecting the significant character-defining features of the original space. Historic significant design characters were changed very little while the building was updated to suit the need of the University.

The Music Technology Center, part of the downtown campus, has a state-of-the-art recording space for students. To achieve sound isolation, the renovation features double walls, double ceilings, floating floors, ductwork traps, and door and window details that absorb and diffuse sound. The shape, size, dimensions, ceiling heights, and key listening positions in each space are each carefully designed to meet the acoustic demands of the space.
