Design Collaborative is excited to announce the new Niswonger Performing Arts Center Annex in Van Wert, Ohio, constructed in collaboration with Muhlenkamp Building Corporation, breaks ground today, Friday, November 6. The new addition is designed to improve performance transitions and increase production space.
The 1,800-square-foot ground-up addition will ease the flow of traffic on performance days, providing more room for performers to move quickly and efficiently. Spaces include star dressing rooms, prep space for make-up and costume setup, laundry facilities, and storage space. The new layout allows performers to enter and exit the stage and make transitions during performances with ease. The design also improves performance setup and takedown efficiency. Designed to match the aesthetic and materials of the existing structure, the addition will include necessary accessibility components for both guests and performers.
“Throughout the process, the team at the Niswonger Performing Arts Center and the Foundation have been excited, passionate, and engaged with this project, and I am thrilled to be a part of the team helping it become a reality, “stated Quinn O’Heeney, project manager with Design Collaborative.
The groundbreaking for the new Niswonger Performing Arts Center Annex takes place today, Friday, November 6 at 11:00 A.M. Due to limited gathering restrictions, this event is invitation only for a limited number of stakeholders. Construction for the new addition is projected to begin late fall of 2020.
